

GP Rugby, also known as the Grande Prairie Rugby Football Club, is a well-established rugby club based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The club offers opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to participate in the exciting sport of rugby. With a rich history dating back to 1982, GP Rugby has been a prominent figure in the Peace Region's rugby community.
The club boasts several competitive teams, including the Sirens, who play in Division 1, and the Centaurs, who play in Division 3. These teams focus on skill development, fitness, and camaraderie, with players having the opportunity to progress to provincial, national, and even international levels. Both senior teams have consistently reached the finals, proudly representing Northern Alberta in tournaments.
In addition to the senior teams, GP Rugby also offers programs for youth players, with teams ranging from U5 up to U18. The club's U18 teams have competed provincially, with the U18 girls recently achieving a commendable 6th place finish. GP Rugby is dedicated to nurturing young talent and providing a fun and competitive environment for kids of all ages to enjoy rugby.
A core value of GP Rugby is respect for the land and acknowledgment of the Indigenous peoples whose traditional territories the club operates on. The club honours the Nehiyaw (Cree), Dane-zaa (Beaver), Michif (Mtis), Sikanni, Denesin, Den Tha, Anihinp (Saulteaux/Anishinaabe), and Assiniboine (Nakota) of Treaties 6 & 8. GP Rugby is committed to working in partnership with Indigenous communities and promoting reconciliation and understanding.
