Go Sports - Coorparoo/Camp Hill is a reputable sports club located in Brisbane, offering a wide range of children's sports activities and coaching classes. With over 25 years of experience, Go Sports has been providing sports coaching classes to primary school children in more than 60 public and private schools throughout Brisbane and its surrounds.
The club's director, Greg Martin, a physical education teacher, developed the concept of Go Sports in 1993 in response to the pressing need to improve basic motor skills and promote an active lifestyle among young children aged 4 to 9 years. The classes are conducted by coaches who have undergone intensive training in the Go Sports philosophy, ensuring that children receive quality and personalised instruction. The class sizes have a maximum ratio of 1 coach to 8 children in Before and After School Programmes, ensuring individual attention and guidance.
Go Sports offers various types of sports classes and programmes, focusing on enhancing children's physical, emotional, and social skills. The club specialises in teaching specific sports such as netball, cricket, tennis, soccer, basketball, and multi-sports. The goal is to get children active, improve their motor skills, and encourage their overall development in a fun and engaging environment.
One of the key offerings of Go Sports is the Before and After School Coaching programme, which commences in the 3rd week of each school term. This programme is available in 60 schools across Brisbane and runs for 6 weeks in most schools (some schools may run for 5 weeks). Parents choose to enrol their children in these classes to help them become more active, improve their motor skills, develop socially, and learn the skills of a game in a fun environment.
The coaches at Go Sports hold child suitability Blue Cards, ensuring a safe and secure learning experience for all participants. The club also follows a COVID management plan in accordance with school and government restriction guidelines, enforcing social distancing during skills sessions and requiring children to bring their own drink bottles.
