Our stunning 27-hole golf course is situated near the CBD of Nelson Bay and offers breathtaking views of the beautiful waterways of Port Stephens.
Spanning across 175 acres of picturesque, tree-lined fairways, our course is not only a golfer's paradise but also a haven for various native Australian wildlife. Keep an eye out for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, native birds, and even occasional goannas during your game. We take great pride in meticulously maintaining our course to showcase its natural beauty and challenging layout.
Prepare to be tested by our variable tee positions and undulating holes, featuring demanding par 3's, daring par 4's, and long par 5's. The 22nd hole, in particular, offers a formidable challenge with its 535m length. The 13th and 14th holes are stunning with serene lakes and deceiving bunkers, while the 18th hole is a true treat, surrounded by blooming Christmas bush in the summer.
We have an exceptional highlight for any golfer seeking an exhilarating experience – our 20th hole. This hole allows you to enjoy the thrill of a hole in one, with a breathtaking tee shot down a tree-lined hill. As you make your way through the course, you can bask in the tranquility of the setting, where the only distractions are occasional bird calls and the delightful presence of native wildlife as your audience.
At Nelson Bay Golf Club, we offer a variety of golf events that cater to the needs of beginners, juniors, cadets, and veterans. Additionally, golf memberships are available, granting members access to our clubhouse facilities seven days a week. Please note that we have a dress code in place, and all players are expected to dress neatly.
For those interested in playing our course, our green fees are as follows: weekday rates range from $25 for 9 holes after 3pm to $80 for 36 holes. On weekends, rates start at $30 for 9 holes after 3pm and go up to $85 for 36 holes. If you have a group of at least 16 players, we offer group rates starting at $45 for 18 holes. Visitors have the option to play with a member and avail discounted rates. If you prefer to ride in style, motorised carts can be rented for $20 to $50 depending on your membership status. However, please note that bringing your own carts is not permitted.
To add even more excitement to your golfing experience, we offer daily competitions throughout the week. Specific draw times are announced in advance, allowing players to secure their preferred timeslots. Our golf club also takes great pride in our strong ladies contingent, with a dedicated ladies committee organising weekly competitions and major events all year round. Lady members can conveniently book their spots for competitions online or at our club premises. We have also implemented temporary local rules and a code of conduct for both men and women.
