Golden Square Pool consists of three pools: a 50-metre lap pool, a children's pool with water features, and a toddler pool. The lap pool is perfect for those looking to get in some serious swimming, while the children's pool provides a fun and interactive space for kids to splash around. The toddler pool is shallow and safe, ensuring that even the littlest swimmers can enjoy their time at the pool.

The pool is run by the Golden Square Pool Committee of Management, a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. These volunteers are the backbone of the pool, and their hard work and passion for their community are evident in the high-quality services and events they provide.

Throughout summer, Golden Square Pool hosts a range of community events and activities. These include live music with the Summer Beats series, a New Year's Eve party, Australia Day festivities, Music by the Pool, and a Movie Night. These events aim to bring the community together and provide opportunities for fun and enjoyment for everyone, whether they are swimmers or not.

Outside of summer, Golden Square Pool continues to engage with the community through various fundraising initiatives and social events. These include a Star Cinema Fundraising Movie, the Biggest Morning Tea at the pool, a community dinner at the Bendigo Stadium, and Friends of the Pool working bees and morning teas.

One unique fundraising initiative is the sale of reusable bags handmade by one of their dedicated volunteers, Rhonda. These stylish and eco-friendly bags are available for purchase and all proceeds go towards supporting the community pool.

Golden Square Pool prides itself on being more than just a swimming facility. It strives to be the heart of the Golden Square community, a place where people can come together, connect, and enjoy the benefits of swimming and recreation. The pool offers health and fitness programmes, a Junior Volunteering Programme, a multicultural swimming programme, a Community Garden, and various social opportunities for volunteers and community members.
