Welcome to Godalming School of Dance, a renowned ballet school located in Godalming, Guildford, and Milford areas. With a long-established presence, we specialise in teaching Classical Ballet, Tap Dance, and Modern Dance. Our mission is to provide every child with the opportunity to dance and nurture their potential in a positive, fun, and supportive environment.
At Godalming School of Dance, we believe that learning to dance not only builds confidence and self-esteem but also encourages an appreciation for music. Whether it's for vocational or recreational purposes, the disciplines we teach contribute to valuable life skills. Our experienced and qualified teachers ensure that each student receives the highest quality instruction, and they are all fully DBS checked for peace of mind.
We take pride in our excellent record of exam results, with the majority of our students achieving Merit or Distinction. Our most gifted students are also invited to participate in competitions at a competitive level.
In our ballet lessons, we follow the syllabus provided by the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (R. A. D) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I. S.
T. D). These classes focus on developing strong technique, musicality, and self-expression, and students have the option to take examinations or class awards. We offer ballet classes for all ages, ranging from 2 years to adults.
Our tap dance lessons, on the other hand, are designed to encourage a child's natural rhythm and coordination. We follow the ISTD syllabus, starting from Primary through the grades to Advanced. Children can begin learning tap dance from the age of 5, and we offer classes for all ages up to Senior Grades.
Finally, in our modern dance lessons, we focus on Modern Jazz, which provides a foundation for more contemporary dance forms seen in Musical Theatre. Our syllabus, also provided by the ISTD, emphasises strong technique, strength, and flexibility. Students can start learning modern dance from the age of 5.
With multiple locations in Godalming, including Surrey, Milford, Guildford, and Onslow Village, we strive to make dance accessible to everyone. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, our classes cater to all levels and ages.
