Situated on the Gloucester-Purton canal, just below Hempsted Bridge, the club boasts a purpose-built site that is shared with other rowing clubs and the Gloucester Canoe Club. This picturesque location provides the perfect setting for rowing enthusiasts of all skill levels.

The club warmly welcomes both experienced rowers and beginners who are eager to try out the sport. For those new to rowing, Gloucester Rowing Club offers Learn to Row courses. These courses provide a comprehensive introduction to the sport, with a focus on both indoor rowing machines and on-water training. Qualified instructors lead the sessions, ensuring that participants receive proper coaching and guidance.

The courses last for 8 weeks, with weekly 2-hour sessions. Additionally, there is an optional group fitness session to enhance physical fitness and conditioning. At the end of the course, participants are invited to take part in a Graduation Regatta.
