Globe Community Gym

Globe Community Gym, located in Greater Manchester, is a volunteer-based fitness and activities centre dedicated to supporting the development of individuals in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials. Established in March 2020, the gym has remained open despite the challenges posed by Covid-19 restrictions and changing lockdown rules.

The gym prides itself on offering a range of services to cater to the needs of the local community. In addition to providing fitness facilities, Globe Community Gym goes above and beyond by offering various types of donated food to cater to different dietary requirements, including vegan and vegetarian options, as well as catering to individuals with allergies. They also have a food pantry where meats are offered alongside groceries, ensuring families and individuals have access to protein-rich food. Additionally, the gym provides books, children's clothing (such as socks, tights, vests, and underwear), as well as pumps and trainers ranging from sizes 2 to 13, depending on availability.

A limited amount of bedding is also available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Globe Community Gym relies heavily on grants, donations, and the goodwill of the public and other organisations. They welcome donations and sponsorship to support their community-based initiatives. Those interested in donating or becoming a sponsor can contact the GLOBE Management Team via phone or email for queries. The Management Team is available on Fridays from 12 pm to 4 pm for assistance.

In terms of their facility, Globe Community Gym offers a versatile main hall that can be adapted to suit a variety of events, including birthdays, wedding receptions, blessings, and children or adult parties. The gym takes pride in its ability to create a welcoming and inclusive space for community events.

Globe Community Gym actively promotes privacy and data protection. They comply with GDPR regulations and ensure that visitor data is handled securely. Visitors have the right to access, correct, delete, or transfer personal information held about them on the company's system. Globe Community Gym also emphasises the importance of explicit consent for holding personal data and promptly informs relevant data authorities and consumers within 72 hours of any breaches to data security.
