Global Legacy Boxing (GLB) is a boxing club located in Mississauga, dedicated to upholding the legacy of the sport of boxing. Founded by former Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis and boxing enthusiast Les Woods, GLB is more than just a boxing club – it is a platform for amateurs to develop their skills and for professionals to thrive in this thrilling sport.
Lennox Lewis, a native of West Ham, London, moved to Kitchener, Ontario as a child and went on to represent Canada in the Super Heavyweight division at the 1984 Summer Olympics, bringing home a gold medal. With an impressive professional record of 41-2-1, Lewis retired from boxing in 2004 as the reigning WBC and IBO Heavyweight Champion. His passion for boxing led him to partner with Global Legacy Boxing, with a mission to elevate the sport in Canada and provide opportunities for aspiring boxers.
Les Woods, hailing from Port Credit, Ontario, comes from a family with generations of boxing heritage. Inspired by his grandfather's love for the sport, Woods witnessed his first World Title fight at the age of 11 and was captivated by the elegance and class of boxing. After decades of fostering a deep appreciation for the sport, Woods teamed up with Lewis and Olympic Medallist Chris Johnson to bring his grandfather's dream of hosting world-class boxing events to Toronto to fruition.
Global Legacy Boxing hosts a series of events, including GLB Thunder at the Falls and The Tribute, showcasing the talent and dedication of boxers from around the world. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for the sport, GLB is a hub for boxing enthusiasts to hone their skills, build camaraderie, and push the boundaries of what is possible in the ring.
Experience the world of boxing like never before at Global Legacy Boxing. Join us in celebrating the legacy of this storied sport and be a part of the next generation of boxing champions.
