Glenunga Netball Club

Glenunga Netball Club is a volunteer-run, Junior-focused Netball Club located in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide, Australia. The club aims to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for young players to develop their netball skills and passion for the sport. While the club currently does not have Open and senior teams, it focuses on nurturing junior talent and ensuring a smooth transition from junior to senior levels.

With limited resources, including two home courts and a small committee, Glenunga Netball Club has a restricted capacity to accept new members. However, opportunities may become available as current players decide not to continue, and the club maintains a waitlist for interested individuals. It is recommended for prospective players to contact other local clubs quickly before their teams fill up.

The club offers various age groups for the Winter 2024 season, including Open (2006 and older), 17&U (2007 and 2008), 15&U (2009 and 2010), 13&U (2011 and 2012), 11&U (2013 and 2014), 9&U (2015), and 8&U (2016 and 2017). Glenunga Netball Club encourages players to participate in their respective age groups and offers a supportive environment for their growth and development.

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all, the club has established certain court rules. These rules include not stepping onto the courts until previous games have finished and teams have cleared, leaving the courts promptly after each game to allow the next teams to warm up, and spectators not standing behind the goal circle ends or in the narrow area between the courts. It is also important for all spectators to stand one metre back from the sidelines to allow umpires to move freely. Additionally, the club advises against bringing dogs and balls inside the court area but allows children and pets to play on the grassed areas nearby.

Game nights for Summer 2023-24 are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, catering to different age groups. The club provides a clear schedule for each age group's game times. Various dates throughout the season are highlighted, including special play days, regrading, the Christmas holidays break, and the start of semi-final and grand final weeks.

In the case of weather or heat cancellations, the club promptly advises its members through the SAUCNA (South Australian United Church Netball Association) Facebook page no later than 4:30 pm. This ensures the safety and well-being of players and umpires.

As a small club with limited resources, Glenunga Netball Club currently operates at full capacity and often has a waitlist for new members. Registrations are prioritised for current members, and any available spots are offered to players on the waitlist. The club prioritises existing players while striving to accommodate new members when possible.
