Her passion for dance began at the age of 3, and she has since trained extensively in various dance forms. Gemma completed a 3-year professional dance course at Dance For All at the Theatre School in Edinburgh, where she also obtained her Royal Academy of Dance teaching certificate. She joined the Lillian McNeill School of Dance as a teacher and later took on the role of Principal, transforming the school and renaming it as the Glasgow School of Ballet.
In addition to her teaching role, Gemma is committed to her own personal and professional development. In 2019, she embarked on a Master's degree in Learning and Teaching in the Arts at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This challenging and rewarding journey has allowed her to further broaden her knowledge and understanding of dance education, which she shares with her students at Glasgow School of Ballet. Gemma's dedication to continuous development is reflective of the school's ethos, which focuses on supporting students and staff in their personal and professional endeavours.
Jennifer Peddie, another experienced teacher at Glasgow School of Ballet, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the school. Having taught in various cities including London, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh, Jennifer holds an Honours Degree in Ballet Education from the Royal Academy of Dance Headquarters in London. She has also obtained a Diploma in Dance Instruction from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Jennifer's passion for teaching extends beyond ballet, as she also teaches contemporary, jazz, and modern dance.
