The badge of Gidea Park Bowling Club features a bowling green outside Gidea Hall, symbolising its historical roots. However, the club moved to Reed Pond Walk in 1923, on the Gidea Park Exhibition Estate. This estate was established on 441 acres purchased from Herbert Henry Raphael, who also founded the Romford and Gidea Park Golf Club.
In 1928, the club relocated to the Gallows Corner Sports Ground, where it currently resides.
Gidea Park Bowling Club has endured various transitions and challenges throughout its history. During World War II, the sports ground, including the bowling green, was requisitioned by the Air Raid Precautions for military purposes. However, the club persevered and continued to grow. In 1938, the ladies formed their own club, the Gidea Park & Romford Women's Bowling Club, showcasing the club's commitment to inclusivity and providing opportunities for women in the sport.
