Mark Fletcher wants to share some exciting news from Gargrave Bowls Club, a welcoming crown-green bowling club in Skipton. Whether you're a seasoned bowler or a complete beginner, Gargrave Bowls Club is the place for you. Mark's main aim is for everyone to enjoy themselves, whether you're playing casually at the club or eyeing county or national competitions.
The club, affiliated with the British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA), sticks to all the official rules and standards. Gargrave is all about mixing fun with fierce competition, regularly hosting and participating in both league and club matches.
Mark is particularly proud of the inclusive nature of crown-green bowling, a sport perfect for all ages and abilities. It’s something everyone in the family can join in on, providing a safe, non-contact environment for all.
For more information about Gargrave Bowls Club, feel free to email Mark at [email protected]. You’ll find the club behind the Masons Arms pub on Marton Road in Gargrave. Just ask the pub staff for the combination to the clubhouse door.
Gargrave Bowls Club, with a history dating back to 1899, is part of a rich tradition. Since the British Crown Green Bowling Association was established in 1907, the sport has grown to over 200,000 members and more than 3,000 clubs across the regions from Cumbria to the Midlands and beyond.
Membership is open to everyone, no matter where you live or your ethnic background. Visitors can use the green and club equipment by getting the clubhouse door code from The Masons Arms staff and dropping a £2 fee in the honesty box. If you decide to join the club, the annual subscription is £40, giving you full access to the clubhouse, green, and all club equipment anytime it's available. Plus, you can take part in all club competitions.
Mark invites you to experience crown-green bowling at Gargrave Bowls Club and join a community of passionate bowlers.
