Fulham Reach Blades Kayaking, spearheaded by John Kain, is a premier canoe and kayak club in London, based at Fulham Reach Boat Club near Hammersmith Bridge on the River Thames. The club offers diverse sessions for adults and children aged 11 to 18, making it an excellent venue for both learning and enjoying kayaking in a scenic environment.
To ensure participation, all attendees must complete a waiver/disclaimer form. This is mandatory for every child and adult. Participants should aim to arrive at least ten minutes before each session, gathering outside the Boat Club.
Sessions for 2023 conclude on Thursday, 19 October, with the summer schedule resuming in April 2024. Non-member sessions are available for Fulham Kids on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00pm for £7, and for Fulham Adults on the same days at 6:30pm for £15.
A highlight of the club's calendar is the Bonfire Night Thames Paddle on Saturday, 4 November. This event, beginning at 6:30pm at Cremorne Activity Centre, offers a unique experience to paddle on the Thames while enjoying the Battersea Park fireworks. Priced at £49, the evening includes sparklers, pizza, music, double kayaks, and an optional fancy dress theme, open to participants aged 18 and over.
Appropriate attire including suitable clothes and old trainers is recommended for all activities. In case of cancellations by the club, participants may reschedule or receive a full refund. If participants need to cancel or rearrange, a minimum notice of 48 hours is required.
