Fudo-Shin-Ryu Karate School, located in Rickmansworth, is a traditional Shotokan Karate school that has been providing students with confidence, fitness, and self-discipline since the early 2000s. The school has a 21st-century twist, offering a modern approach to the traditional teachings of karate. Affiliated with the English Karate Organisation, Fudo-Shin-Ryu has officially recognised instructors and Black Belts.
The school offers classes on Monday nights at Ruislip Gardens School. The Monday School has three classes to cater to different age groups. The infant class is designed for children aged 4-7/8, where they learn the basics of karate in a fun and safe environment, developing focus and discipline. The junior class, for ages 7/8-13, focuses on challenging younger students to stay active and develop self-discipline and focus.
The senior class, for ages 13 and older, allows for more intense training to take on tougher challenges.
On Wednesdays, Fudo-Shin-Ryu holds classes at Whiteheath Junior School. Similar to the Monday School, there are three classes available for different age groups.
In addition to regular classes, Fudo-Shin-Ryu offers special black belt training sessions once a month. These sessions provide intense and advanced training opportunities that are not possible in normal classes. Students can learn advanced katas and self-defence techniques during these sessions.

The school takes pride in its instructors, particularly Sensei Tony Whitehead, who has been part of Fudo-Shin-Ryu since 2002. With a wealth of experience and a deep dedication, Sensei Tony strives to pass on the benefits he found during his training. Another notable instructor is Sensei Gary, who began his martial arts journey as a pre-teen and has trained in various styles of karate over the years.
