South Coast Cycling Club, based in Adelaide, is proud to present Friday Nights at Edwardstown, an exciting track racing event that runs from October to March, during the daylight saving months. Held at the Edwardstown velodrome, this event offers a warm and friendly environment for cyclists of all levels to come together and enjoy some thrilling racing action.
What makes Friday Nights at Edwardstown, so special is the wide range of events available, catering to both sprinters and endurance riders. Whether you prefer individual races or team events, there's something for everyone to get involved in. But it's not just about the serious racing – we also like to have some fun! During the Christmas break-up, we even have special novelty races and the chance for you to dress up your bike and show off your creativity.
To take part in the velodrome track warm-up and racing, all participants must have a current AusCycling license. If you're new to track racing, don't worry! We've got you covered. Just attend the AusCycling SA novice sessions prior to racing, or demonstrate your track riding experience. Riding at the Edwardstown velodrome requires practice and confidence, but we're here to support you every step of the way.
Before hitting the track, make sure to check out the Friday night program on the club's website. It will give you all the information you need to plan your evening of racing. Remember that all riders must sign on/check-in and present their current AC license and helmet before warming up. If you're a new rider, don't forget to complete an emergency contact form on your first night of competition. Safety is always our priority.
We're also excited to welcome young riders to Friday Nights at Edwardstown. With an AC Kidz Licence available for children under 13 years old, we provide an affordable introduction to the club environment and offer modified activities that promote skill development. Our events are tailored to suit the ability and age of the young riders, ensuring they have a fantastic and rewarding experience.
