Freestyle Manitoba is a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg, dedicated to supporting the development of freestyle skiers in Manitoba. From beginners at a grassroots level to national level competitors, Freestyle Manitoba offers programs in five disciplines: Freestyle Moguls, Slopestyle, Aerials, Big Air, and Halfpipe.
The Board of Directors at Freestyle Manitoba includes President Dave Parnell, Vice President Rick Demetrioff, and Treasurer Tom Jankowski. The organization is also supported by Directors at Large, such as Technical Director Blake Grist and Public Relations Officer Will Purves.
In line with creating a safe and positive environment for all participants, Freestyle Manitoba follows the Safe Sport framework established by Sport Manitoba. This includes mandating Respect in Sport training for all coaches and committing to the Responsible Coaching Movement and True Sport principles.
One of the key programs offered by Freestyle Manitoba is the FUNdamentalz Freestyle Ski Program, designed for children aged 6-12. This program focuses on fun, safety, and skill development, introducing young skiers to the basics of freestyle skiing, including skiing, jumping, moguls, and terrain parks. FUNdamentalz activities are based on the HIGH FIVE Principles, supporting the social, emotional, and physical development of children in an easy-to-follow format.
