Pilates is a method of exercise that focuses on core strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness. Freedom Pilates, located in Glasgow, offers exceptional Pilates classes in a modern and fun environment. The studio was established in 2009 by Shahana Noor, with the goal of supporting individuals dealing with continuous back issues and pain.
Back pain is a common issue that affects more than 80% of the adult population at some point in their lives. It is one of the leading causes of work absences and can greatly impact an individual's quality of life. At Freedom Pilates, the instructors aim to help people engage and strengthen their core muscles, improving posture and preventing injury. Engaging in regular Pilates practise can also contribute to achieving a lean and toned physique.
In addition to Pilates classes, Freedom Pilates also offers superfoods. Shahana Noor, the owner of Freedom Superfoods, became passionate about promoting the benefits of superfoods after experiencing adverse effects from prescribed medication for an Overactive Thyroid condition.
Shahana Noor, the dedicated instructor and owner of Freedom Pilates, has been teaching Pilates since 2009. She decided to become a Pilates instructor after suffering a back injury and not receiving appropriate rehabilitation. Shahana holds a Level 3 Classical Pilates Diploma and specialises in reducing back pain and providing post and ante-natal pregnancy support. Additionally, she possesses a Level 3 certification in Anatomy and Physiology, enabling her to address specific areas of an individual's body.
Shahana applies variations and modifications to cater to the unique needs of each client, and she is committed to teaching Pilates and educating people about their bodies with compassion, intellect, and positive energy.
Freedom Pilates offers a range of classes, including Alignment Therapy, Over 50s Pilates, and Mat Group Classes. Mat classes typically last 50 minutes and have an average of 15 students per session. These classes are suitable for individuals with no experience in Pilates or with some fitness background. For beginners, the instructor recommends starting at the front of the class for 6–8 weeks to receive ample support and guidance.
The mat classes take place in a calm environment that fosters inner strength development and relaxation. Students will learn the fundamentals of Pilates, such as breathing techniques, posture, and balance.
Freedom Pilates provides detailed information about their classes, including the day, time, and location. For example, mat classes are held on Wednesdays at 10:00 am in Auldhouse Community Church, and on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm in Re-Hope Church.
