Nestled in the heart of Folkestone, the club has been a staple of the local sporting community for over 155 years. Jason wants to highlight that the club caters for players of all ages and abilities, with many having proudly represented Kent.
Folkestone Cricket Club features the impressive Three Hills Sports Park, thanks to the support from the Roger De Haan Charitable Foundation. This venue has become a Centre of Excellence for Cricket, Hockey, and Netball, placing it among the top sports hubs in the South East.
For senior cricket enthusiasts, the club fields four senior Saturday sides in the Kent Cricket League and a Saturday Development XI. Sundays mix things up with friendly fixtures that combine both seniors and juniors. Training for seniors happens on Tuesday evenings with optional sessions on Thursdays, and winter training is on Friday evenings.
Junior cricket is equally important at the club. Teams compete in the Saxon Shore League, Ashford League, and Canterbury League, achieving fantastic results like cup wins and runner-up spots last season.
The U9 section is thriving, with youngsters coming through the All-Stars programmes or simply joining for a first taste of cricket. These sessions focus on fun and skill-building, and the U9s have been actively competing in the Kent Cricket new Forty5 Competition.
For those aged U11 to U15, hardball cricket teams compete in various local leagues, providing plenty of competitive match opportunities.
Training sessions are well structured and available for all children aged 6 and up. Junior winter indoor training takes place on Monday evenings, tailored to different age groups.
