Welcome to Fly Fishing with Latitude Guiding, located in Nelson, South Island, New Zealand. Led by Mike Kirkpatrick, a professional fly-fishing brown trout fishing guide, we specialise in premium trout fly-fishing and trout guiding experiences.
Nelson is known for its incredible trout fishing, making it a fly-fishing paradise for anglers. With an abundance of pristine rivers and waterways in the region, there are hundreds of miles of plentiful fly-fishing water, all within a couple of hours' drive. The quality of these waterways is astonishing, with each river offering a unique experience, from the slightly tannin stained West Coast to the gin clear headwaters of Kahurangi National Park.
Mike Kirkpatrick, an expert fly-fishing guide and proud member of the NZPFGA (New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association), has spent most of his life exploring and trout fishing in the Nelson region. His extensive knowledge of the area allows him to take clients into wilderness areas to hunt large, sometimes trophy, trout. Whether you're interested in local, backcountry, or remote fishing, Mike will prepare a trip tailored to your preferences. His dedication to providing the best experience possible ensures no stone is left unturned.
We offer various fishing trips and packages to suit your preferences and schedule. Choose from half-day or full-day local fishing trips, two or three-day excursions with overnight accommodations at a cabin or a Bed & Breakfast. For those seeking a more immersive experience, we offer wilderness excursions for three days and two nights, with accommodation in trampers huts or riverside camping. We also have larger multi-day trips available, and if your time is limited, Mike can arrange a helicopter for quick access to remote wilderness areas.
In addition to our guiding services, we also offer New Zealand fly-fishing adventure DVDs created by Mike Kirkpatrick. These movies showcase the spectacular trout fishing in the Nelson, Murchison, and West Coast regions. If you wish to capture your own trip of a lifetime, we provide a high-class filming service, with the footage edited and delivered to you on a USB.
