Short walk from the studio. The studio is fully equipped with crash mats, yoga mats, and stretching equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable training environment for all participants.
At Flyaway Aerial Studio, they offer a range of classes for all ages and fitness levels. Pole Fitness is a popular alternative form of exercise that combines dance movement with acrobatic techniques performed on a fixed vertical pole. The studio offers various styles of pole dance, including pole strength, pole art, and contemporary pole, allowing individuals to explore and find their own unique style. It is important to wear shorts and avoid moisturising the skin before class to prevent sliding off the pole, and all jewellery should be removed to avoid damaging the surface of the poles.
Aerial Silks, also known as aerial fabric or tissu, is another popular class offered at Flyaway Aerial Studio. Participants use a length of fabric folded in half and suspended from a height to perform climbs, wraps, and drops. Wearing form-fitting clothing is recommended to protect the skin from friction burns, so leggings and tops that can be tucked in are ideal. It is advised to avoid clothing with zips or catches that can snag and rip the silks.
For those interested in Aerial Hoop (lyra), Flyaway Aerial Studio provides solid circular pieces of equipment suspended from a height. Participants can learn and perform tricks and sequences statically or on spin. Similar to aerial silks, it is necessary to wear form-fitting clothing without zips or catches to prevent any accidents or damage to the hoop.
Flyaway Aerial Studio also offers classes in Aerial Hammock, a discipline similar to aerial silks but using a loop instead. This apparatus allows individuals to deepen stretches, improve flexibility, build strength, and improve overall fitness levels. Additionally, the studio teaches Trapeze, a versatile piece that uses the solid bar and the flexibility of the ropes to create shape, flow, and movement.
In addition to these classes, Flyaway Aerial Studio has recently introduced new Pole Flow and Spin Pole classes to their timetable. These classes can be paid per session or individuals can purchase a membership to book for multiple sessions or choose the specific classes they want to attend.
Flyaway Aerial Studio also believes in promoting fitness and aerial arts to teenagers. They offer Teens Aerial classes for individuals aged 11-16, which include hammock, silk, and trapeze classes. There are separate classes for different age groups to ensure a suitable and enjoyable training experience.
Anita and Tanya, the founders of Flyaway Aerial Studio, established the studio in June 2015 with a focus on providing pole fitness classes to the Lisburn area. Over time, they expanded their offerings to include aerial hoop and aerial silk classes. The studio boasts a spacious 1300 sqft open plan area with plenty of natural light for a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. With 9 four-metre high poles and 4 points for aerial classes, the studio can accommodate multiple participants at once.
The poles used are 45 mm chrome X-Poles that can be customised to static or spin, providing versatility for different styles of pole dance. Additionally, the studio offers a range of hoop sizes to suit individual preferences and silks of the same stretch and grip thickness in various colours.
Conveniently located just a few minutes' drive from the centre of Lisburn in a security protected business park, Flyaway Aerial Studio offers plenty of free parking for participants. For those using public transportation, there is a bus route that stops near the studio, making it easily accessible to all.
At Flyaway Aerial Studio, participants can expect a supportive and inclusive environment where they can explore their passions for pole fitness and aerial arts. Whether one is a beginner or an experienced practitioner, the studio offers classes and workshops to cater to all levels of experience. With qualified instructors and a commitment to safety, Flyaway Aerial Studio provides a space for individuals to challenge themselves, build strength, increase flexibility, and have fun while doing so.
