Flemingate Bowling Club, Beverley is a vibrant and friendly bowling club located in East Yorkshire. The club's rinks are situated in a corner of the grounds of Beverley Leisure Centre, close to the tennis courts. The objective of the club is to promote and foster the “Flat Green” game of Bowls.
Flemingate Bowling Club participates in league competitions within a number of local affiliated associations and also organises social bowling for all members on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons during the outdoor season, which runs from April to September. The club's events committee also organises various club competitions throughout the season, as well as other one-off competitions. A highly anticipated “Finals Day” is held at the end of the season, where games are played to decide the winners of the Mens, Ladies, and Open Pairs Competitions.
In addition to organised fixtures and competitions, members have the opportunity to use the facilities of the club and rinks for casual bowling on any day throughout the season, except for specific exceptions such as greens maintenance or organised fixtures. The club has a few sets of woods available for new players to try, and instruction is provided in the basic skills and rules of the game by experienced members.
Flemingate Bowling Club is always open to welcoming new members. Individuals interested in joining can either contact any of the club officers for more information or simply turn up at the clubhouse on any Wednesday or Sunday afternoon at 1:15 pm for sessions starting at 1:30 pm.
