Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre (SGAC) is excited to promote their upcoming Artistic Gymnastics event! This event is perfect for anyone who is interested in improving their mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility.
One of the programs SGAC offers is the Fitter for Life program, which is specifically designed for individuals over the age of 55. This program has two types of activities: Gentle Gym and Synergy Swim. Gentle Gym provides low-impact exercises that are suitable for seniors with chronic health conditions such as arthritis, joint problems, and circulation issues. It focuses on overall fitness and well-being through gentle exercises that are kind to the body.
The Synergy Swim program, on the other hand, is a low-impact, low-weight bearing exercise program that is ideal for seniors with chronic health conditions. This program offers a variety of exercises in the water that can improve mobility and strength without putting stress on the joints. It's a great option for anyone looking to stay active in a safe and enjoyable way.
Both programs are suitable for individuals of all ages and ability levels, and you don't need to know how to swim to participate. Before starting the Fitter for Life program, participants will need to complete a Pre-Screen questionnaire. This helps ensure the program is tailored to each individual's needs and abilities, providing a safe and effective workout.
If you're interested in attending these classes, you have the option to pay casually with a cost of $12 per class. Alternatively, you can purchase a 4 visit pass for $37 with a one-month expiry or an 8 visit pass for $73 with a three-month expiry. Registration is mandatory for participation in the program, but don't worry, it comes with insurance coverage in case of any injury during the Gentle Gym lessons. Booking your class sessions is easy, just log in using your registered email address.
In addition to the Fitter for Life program, SGAC also offers the Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP) gymnastics program. This program is specifically designed for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. It's a wonderful opportunity for everyone to experience the benefits of artistic gymnastics in a supportive and inclusive environment.
For parents, guardians, and carers of school-age children, SGAC has something special for you too! You can take advantage of a $50 Active Kids voucher, which can be used towards gymnastics classes for your children. It's a great way to introduce them to the world of gymnastics and keep them active and engaged.
Lastly, SGAC provides an Instant Online Swim Assessment. It's a quick and fun way for parents to answer a few questions to determine what sea creature their child would be in terms of swimming skills. This assessment is available for children aged 6 months to 17 years, and it helps determine which swimming lessons are suitable for each age group.
