Fit Mommas ltd

Fit Momma's Ltd is a physical fitness programme in Wolverhampton that is dedicated to supporting and empowering moms in their fitness journey. It was founded by Amy Whitter, a personal trainer, exercise to music coach, pre/postnatal exercise coach, and mental health first aid provider.

Amy's inspiration for starting Fit Momma's Ltd came during her own experience of keeping fit at home while on maternity leave with her son. She received positive feedback on her workouts and personal transformation, which motivated her to share her knowledge and support with other moms.

Fit Momma's was established in 2018 and has continued to thrive in 2022, even with the addition of another child. The programme has gained recognition and support from the local MP, Stuart Anderson, and has formed partnerships with The Wolves Foundation and Sport of England – Active through Football. Fit Momma's has also made appearances on ITV News and featured on Channel 4's Michael Mosley Who Made Britain Fat programme.

Fit Momma's stands out for its unique approach to fitness and its commitment to safety during the pandemic. It provides a supportive and judgement-free environment for likeminded moms who struggle with exercising due to difficulties in finding babysitters or lack of confidence. The programme aims to bring moms together to bond with their babies, connect with other moms, and achieve their personal fitness goals. Fit Momma's understands the challenges that come with being a mom, and aims to create a fun and inclusive space where every mom feels understood and supported.

Additionally, Fit Momma's recognises the importance of exercise in preventing and recovering from postnatal depression. Postnatal depression affects more than 1 in 10 women within one year of giving birth, and aerobic exercise can play a significant role in its recovery and prevention.
