Fishbourne Lawn Bowling Club

Welcome to Fishbourne Lawn Bowling Club! Established in December 1984, the club has a rich history that stretches back even further to 1933 when the Singleton Bowling Club was founded. Although records from the pre-war days are scarce, one of our current trophies dates back to that time, showcasing the heritage and tradition of our club.

At Fishbourne, we pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We regularly play around 55 friendly matches against other clubs, both at home and away, providing ample opportunities for our members to showcase their bowling skills and build camaraderie with fellow bowlers. In fact, Fishbourne has been a formidable force in the bowling community, winning the Holbrook Cup in 2003, 2004, and 2016.

To keep things exciting and competitive, we organise an internal league competition every Tuesday evening throughout the season. This league allows members to test their abilities against other club members and hone their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Additionally, we participate in the BM Mixed League and were instrumental in its formation. In 2011, Fishbourne emerged as champions in Division 2, showcasing our dedication to excellence.

Apart from these regular competitions, we also hold three one-day internal competitions each season, as well as eight knockout competitions. This variety ensures that there is always something for members of all skill levels and preferences. Our finals day, held annually, attracts a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from both participants and spectators alike.

Located in the picturesque area of Fishbourne, our club is situated on The Playing Field, Blackboy Lane, Fishbourne, PO18 8BE. As an associate member of Bowls England and affiliated to Sussex County Bowls, we uphold the high standards and values associated with these prestigious organisations.
