Are you the owner of Firststeps School of Dance?

Welcome to FirstSteps School of Dance in London! Sue and Kit Dickinson, the mother-daughter duo behind this family-run school, are dedicated to sharing the joy of dance with everyone. At FirstSteps, they create a supportive environment where students can shine, building confidence and social skills along the way.
Sue and Kit have assembled a team of highly qualified and certified teachers, all backed by the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Every staff member also undergoes DBS checks and fulfils annual CPD requirements, ensuring a top-notch learning experience.
They take pride in their fully inclusive approach, promoting equality and diversity across their school. More details can be found in their EDI Statement on the Information Page.
FirstSteps offers ballet and jazz classes for children of all ages, from preschool to young adults. They also cater to adults, whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your dance skills. The school's main focus is ballet, with classes ranging from preschool to vocational levels, including pointe work. Sue and Kit also run a unique Boys Dance class, welcoming boys into both jazz and graded ballet sessions.
In addition to ballet, you can explore jazz classes, Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, and Class Awards, giving students clear goals to work towards. A highlight every term is the 'Parents Watching Day', where students get to show off their progress to family and friends.
Since 2003, Sue's background in human movement psychology and Kit's professional ballet experience have combined to create a nurturing space where every student can thrive. They invite you to visit their studio at Alexandra Palace, London, and join the vibrant FirstSteps community.
