Performance, competitions, and workshops. Miss Gemma was awarded numerous scholarships and awards throughout her dance journey, including a scholarship to the prestigious Australian Performing Arts College.
After completing her HSC, Miss Gemma moved to Sydney to further her dance education at Ev and Bow Full-Time Dance. Here, she trained extensively in contemporary dance and was mentored by renowned choreographers. Miss Gemma also had the opportunity to perform in various professional shows and events during her time in Sydney.
With a desire to share her knowledge and passion for dance, Miss Gemma returned to her hometown in Coffs Harbour and founded FirstStep Dance Academy Mid North Coast. Her vision was to create a dance school where children of all ages could learn, grow, and have fun in a supportive and nurturing environment.
To ensure the highest level of teaching and development for her students, Miss Gemma continues to attend workshops and training programmes, both locally and internationally. She believes in staying up-to-date with the latest dance styles and techniques to provide her students with the best dance education possible.
Miss Gemma is supported by a dedicated team of experienced and qualified dance teachers who share her passion for dance and commitment to providing a positive and enriching dance experience for all students.
At FirstStep Dance Academy Mid North Coast, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of classes, including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Lyrical. These classes are designed to develop technique, strength, coordination, and creativity. Students can also choose to participate in examinations and showcase their skills in the annual end-of-year concert.
