Finch Taekwondo (Ampthill)

Taekwon-Do is a military martial art that focuses on discipline, technique, and mental training, all working towards developing a strong sense of self-awareness, integrity, and humility. The Finch Taekwon-Do Ampthill club in Bedford is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals and aims to provide a positive experience for students of all ages and skill levels.

The club is led by Chief Instructor Master Finch VII, who has over 35 years of experience in Taekwon-Do. He has achieved his Master VII degree status in 2021 and has attended various international seminars and courses to enhance his skills. Master Finch has trained under notable figures such as Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, General Choi Hong Hi (founder of Taekwon-Do), Grandmaster Choi Jong Hwa, Grandmaster Rudolf Kong, and Grandmaster Sahota.

Instructor Jo-Anne Finch VI has 30 years of experience and is currently working towards her VI degree. She is also a long-distance runner and has participated in the 2012 and 2014 London Marathons. Instructor Gemma Finch III began practising Taekwon-Do at the age of 5 and achieved her black belt at the age of 9. She is currently training towards her 4th-degree black belt.

Finch Taekwon-Do Ampthill offers a range of classes tailored to different skill levels. They provide a free introductory session for beginners to get a taste for Taekwon-Do. The beginners' class is open to white belts to green belts and is held on Tuesday evenings at 6:15 pm. They also offer a senior-grade class for blue belts and above, which takes place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evenings.

Private tuition is also available for those who prefer one-on-one training with a VII degree instructor.

The club is affiliated with the UKGT (United Kingdom Global Taekwon-Do) and the UITF (Unified International Taekwon-Do Federation). All instructors undergo training approved by the UITF, which includes teaching techniques, child safety, first aid, and enhanced DBS checks.
