Fight Club Jiu Jitsu Townsville, located at 50 Bamford Lane in Townsville, Queensland, is a well-known and respected name in the competition and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu scene across North Queensland. Led by instructor Eric Lemoine, a highly experienced Brown Belt, the school offers a wide range of BJJ classes catering to all ages, including kickboxing and specialised Yoga for BJJ classes.
At Fight Club Townsville, students will learn the fundamentals and concepts of BJJ with a strong focus on core principles and basics. The school boasts a strong kids team that not only teaches technique and life skills, but also instils discipline and provides a fun learning environment for kids to thrive on their Jiu Jitsu journey.
Instructor Eric Lemoine brings over 20 years of martial arts experience to the school. He began his martial arts training in 1997 with Kickboxing and started his Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (BJJ) journey in 2000 at the Rick Spain Defence Academy. Under the guidance of Professor Paulo Guimaraes, the first Brazilian born BJJ black belt teacher in Australia, Eric trained full time until he joined the Australian Army in 2005.
During his 9 years of service in the Army, Eric had the opportunity to instruct large numbers of Army personnel, including women, in self-defence warm-ups and drills using BJJ techniques. He also taught close-quarter fighting and hand-to-hand combat to the Elite Special Forces Special Air Service Regiment.
After discharging from the Army in 2014, Eric began teaching BJJ at Aitkenvale PCYC in Townsville, and in just 3 years, he grew the BJJ membership in a local martial arts gym to become one of the largest BJJ schools in North Queensland. In 2017, Eric opened Fight Club Townsville under the guidance of his long-time friend and mentor, Daniel Lima, with the aim of bringing the modern training programmes of the successful Fight Club franchise to Townsville.
Since its opening, Fight Club Townsville has gained recognition in the competition scene, with students winning numerous titles across multiple divisions in North Queensland, Queensland, and on the East Coast. The school's commitment to providing the latest training techniques and helping students achieve their life goals remains a priority for Eric.
Fight Club Jiu Jitsu's mission is to provide its members with the highest possible standards in martial arts training programmes, empowering them to achieve a healthier, happier, and more productive life through the martial arts. The school creates a safe, fun, and supportive environment where students have everything they need to enjoy fitness, good health, confidence, mental strength, discipline, self-defence skills, and lifelong friendships.
