

Fernie Old School Boxing is a unique boxing gym located at 661 B 2nd Avenue in Fernie, offering a blend of circuit training, conditioning, and classic boxing techniques. The gym provides a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, where members can receive individual attention and guidance to help them achieve their fitness and boxing goals.
The gym offers competitive boxing training upon request, along with coach evaluations to determine interest and aptitude. The class schedule includes Ladies Only classes on Mondays, Junior classes for ages 7-14 on Tuesdays, Mixed Senior Recreational classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Competitive and To Be Announced classes on Wednesdays.
Membership registration is available on-site on a monthly basis, with an initial registration requirement of a yearly membership in Boxing BC for club and member insurance purposes. Membership fees for Boxing Canada are $65 for Junior/Youth and $90 for Senior competitive members per year, and $10 per year for recreational members.
Fernie Old School Boxing operates as a registered non-profit organization with a Board of Directors and a Charter. The gym's website hosting and design have been generously donated by ISOSCELES. Anyone interested in joining the gym can simply show up at the location at the beginning of a class and sign up.
The gym offers great cardio, upper body and strength training, core fitness, and endurance workouts. Senior members have the option of drop-in classes for $10, monthly membership for $60, or an annual membership from September to June for $450. Junior members can sign up for $25 per month and also require a Boxing BC membership.
The Board of Directors at Fernie Old School Boxing includes Mike Johnson, Sam Skiffington, and Marina Stavrik, as well as Members at Large Bruce Doey and Daks Clarkson. The gym welcomes donations, which will receive a receipt and acknowledgment within the club and in club-related advertising.
