Rowland and Ali Fernyhough want to share some updates about Ferneyhough R J & A M's horse riding school with the community. Based in Stonehouse, Rowland and Ali have built a top-quality equestrian facility that caters to riders of all levels.
Rowland brings over 30 years of experience, including time as an Olympic and Nations Cup team member and as the Junior and Under 21 British Team Trainer, leading to double Gold wins in Portugal back in 2004. Ali also has a distinguished past as a top Show Rider, winning major championships and now serves as a world-wide Judge. They both train young riders in various equine disciplines.
Ferneyhough R J & A M focusses on producing and selling horses suitable for everything from all-rounders to Olympians. Their facilities are designed with the horses' and clients' needs in mind. Young horses are raised at their farm in mid-Wales, in an environment that supports their growth and development. Visitors are always welcome to come and see the horses at this stage.
In Wales, the school has excellent facilities for showcasing the horses' abilities, including loose jumping setups. Down in Haresfield, Stonehouse, the training amenities include a large Martin Collins arena and an indoor school, offering great spaces for training and practice.
Rowland and Ali breed horses from quality mares and purchase young horses to mature at their farm in Wales. Some are sold through their loose jumping facility while others stay for breaking in before moving to Gloucestershire for more intensive schooling.
Ferneyhough R J & A M offers horses for sale grouped by age, ranging from 0–3 years to 4+ years, meeting various needs and preferences. The school has seen many successes with their horses, like Balzac, who had a great season with Dave Quigley before being sold for Anthony Condon, and Calcourt Falklund, who went to Gary Widdowson for Nick Skelton after his time with Quigley.
