FC Birrarung, a soccer club based in Melbourne, is excited to announce the opening of registrations for the 2024 season. Dedicated to fun, long-term player development, and fair play, FC Birrarung is a community football club that welcomes players of all ages and skill levels.
On January 18th, FC Birrarung opened registrations for the upcoming season, and the response has been overwhelming. Within just one day, many teams were already over-subscribed. However, there are still opportunities to register for the U7 Mini Tillies, U16 girls, U18 boys, and Senior Women teams.
To ensure transparency and keep players informed, FC Birrarung will be providing an update on team availability on the club's website on February 3rd. The club has limited capacity due to various resources, such as volunteers, equipment, and pavilion storage, as well as allocated pitches from the City of Melbourne.
One of the highlights of FC Birrarung is their partnership with Melbourne University, as they share the Princes Park soccer pitches from March to September. This collaboration not only enhances the experience for players but also fosters a sense of community within the sport.
When registering for FC Birrarung, players are required to submit a passport-style photograph. Additionally, volunteers and coaches must include their Working with Children Check number and expiry to ensure the safety and protection of all participants.
FC Birrarung offers teams for a wide range of age groups, including Birrarung Pups (ages 4-6), Miniroos and MiniTillies (ages 6-11), Juniors (ages 12-18), and Seniors (18 and above). The club is committed to keeping fees affordable for all, covering various costs such as registration and insurance, facilities and ground fees, referee fees, coach development, equipment, and administration.
In line with their commitment to inclusivity, FC Birrarung also supports families who may face financial barriers. They offer sponsorships for Miniroo and Junior players who hold an Australian Healthcare Card. Please note that sponsorship registrations need to be done in person and are not available online. Additionally, donations to sponsor players are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible for amounts of $2 or more.
