Faversham Town Football Club has a rich history dating back to 1884, making it one of the oldest clubs in the country. Originally playing friendlies, the club joined the Kent League in the early 20th century. Despite disbanding during World War II, the club was reformed in 1947 as Faversham Town and adopted their iconic 'lilywhite' shirts. The club has faced ups and downs over the years, with periods of success in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, including a victory in the 2000 Kent League Challenge Cup.
Unfortunately, financial difficulties led to the club's collapse in 2003, leaving their stadium derelict.
However, thanks to the dedication and support of local supporters and businessmen, Faversham Town Football Club was revived in 2005. Volunteers worked tirelessly to renovate the stadium, allowing the club to make a triumphant comeback. The team achieved promotion to the Kent League in their first season back and went on to win the league title in 2010, earning them a place in the semi-professional Isthmian League, the highest level in the club's history.
Although the club experienced relegation in the 2022/23 season, they now look forward to a new beginning. Faversham Town Football Club is proud to represent the town and their distinctive Three Lions badge proudly displays the town crest. With a passionate fanbase and a commitment to developing young talent, Faversham Town Football Club continues to be a cornerstone of the local community.
