Rowledge Bowling Club is excited to announce the upcoming Farnham League, a thrilling triples competition that takes place every Wednesday evening. This competition brings together clubs from within a ten-mile radius of Farnham, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and camaraderie.
The Farnham League consists of two divisions, and Rowledge is proud to be part of Division One. With eight teams in each division, the competition is fierce and promises some exciting matches. The league matches are played with four mixed triples, two at home and two away, providing a balanced and challenging playing experience.
But that's not all! Rowledge Bowling Club is also actively involved in various cup and individual competitions that add even more excitement to the season. The cup competitions include the prestigious Boyd Shield, the thrilling Goolding Cup, and the highly anticipated Ken Britton Cup. These competitions offer our talented players the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against some of the best clubs in the area.
For those who prefer individual competitions, Rowledge Bowling Club has something for you too. The club organises Mens’ Singles, Ladies Singles, Mens’ Pairs, Ladies Pairs, and Mixed Pairs competitions, allowing players to shine individually and form dynamic partnerships on the green.
Rowledge Bowling Club has a history of success, having achieved remarkable results in previous years. They have claimed victory in the division in 2009, 2010, 2014, and 2017, showing their determination and skill. In 2018, the club proudly retained the Goolding Cup and finished as runners-up in the Mixed Pairs competition. While the 2019 season might have been a bit disappointing for the club, they narrowly avoided relegation to Division 2 and returned with a bang in 2021.
Unfortunately, the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Rowledge Bowling Club bounced back in 2021 with an impressive performance. They finished as runners-up to Seale and Sands in the Farnham League and reached the finals in three out of four knockout competitions. While they fell short in the Goolding Cup and Boyd Shield against Seale and Sands, they managed to secure an outstanding victory against Farnham in the Mixed Triples, earning a well-deserved trophy.
