Falkirk Company of Archers, located in Falkirk, UK, offers both indoor and outdoor archery opportunities for its members.
In winter, they shoot indoors at the Woodlands Games Hall on Mondays from 18:45 to 21:00 and Wednesdays from 19:30 to 21:45. During summer, they shoot outdoors at the Westquarter & Redding Cricket Club on Wednesday evenings from 19:00 until dark and either Saturday or Sunday, depending on cricket matches.
To reach the outdoor site, drive along the A803 to Polmont. At the mini roundabout on Polmont Main Street, take the road signposted towards the station and HM Prison. Pass the station and a church on the left. At the T-junction with a Spar shop ahead, turn left on A803 towards Maddiston, and after about 1/4 mile, turn right onto Sunnyside Road. About 500 yards along, turn left into the Bailliefields entrance. The car park is at the back. Please drive through to the car park and avoid parking at the entrance. On Wednesdays, arrive promptly to assist with setting up and meet at the small barn.
Since its founding in 1971, Falkirk Company of Archers has produced Scottish and British champions. Notably, two members competed in the first Commonwealth Games to host archery in 1982. The club’s secretary, Moira Taylor, led the British Team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. The club also has several members who contribute to coaching and administration within Scottish Archery and Archery GB.
Falkirk Company of Archers welcomes members of all skill levels. They organise regular internal events for performance assessment and offer a competitive yet social archery experience. Archers of all ages and physical capabilities are encouraged to join, with introductory coaching for beginners and a warm welcome extended to visiting archers.
To keep up with news and updates, follow their new Facebook page. Aspiring members must be existing archers or have completed a beginners course. Junior members must be at least 12 years old. Due to the club's popularity, there may be a waiting list for new memberships.
