Ian, the organiser of Falcons Martial Arts, wanted to reach out to the sports community with a special message. He welcomes everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned martial artists, to join the Falcons family.
Falcons Martial Arts, led by Ian, prides itself on being a safe and inclusive space for all ages and backgrounds. The club focuses on building a sense of belonging and camaraderie among its members. The dedicated instructors are there to help each student grow their skills and achieve their best.
Ian and his team specialise in teaching Zennin Martial Arts, which merges Goju Ryu kata with practical applications. This style focuses on self-defence, flexibility, and mental discipline. They also offer Thai Kickboxing, a high-energy martial art that uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Students can pick one or train in both disciplines based on their goals.
Health and safety are top priorities for Falcons Martial Arts. Due to Covid-19, all students must be fully vaccinated. Masks are required for visitors in public spaces at Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre, where the classes are held. Ian also encourages anyone feeling unwell to stay home and prioritise their health.
Classes are held once a week on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre, 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown, Wellington. The venue is spacious and well-equipped for martial arts training.
