Falcon Boat Club

Falcon Boat Club is one of the oldest rowing clubs in Oxford, having been founded in 1869. Throughout its long history, the club has provided a space for local residents to come together, make friendships, learn new skills, and stay fit. Today, Falcon offers rowing, canoeing, and kayaking programmes to the people of Oxford and beyond. It continues to be a thriving club with strong ties to the local community.

The club prides itself on providing a safe and welcoming environment for individuals to learn new boating skills, train and compete, or simply relax on the water. Membership is open to all, and the new Falcon boathouse serves as a central gathering place for people of all ages and backgrounds. Located just upstream of Donnington Bridge in East Oxford, the club is easily accessible to both residents and visitors.

A significant milestone in Falcon's history was the construction of its first-ever clubhouse. In celebration of the club's 150th anniversary in 2019, members set out to secure plans and funding for the clubhouse. Thanks to the incredible efforts of a dedicated group of members, as well as donations from club users, funding bodies, and generous individuals, construction began in September 2020. Additional donations during the building process allowed for the completion of the new clubhouse in March 2023.

The club extends its gratitude to everyone who made this project possible, as the clubhouse serves as an unbelievable facility for both on-water and off-water activities. The official opening took place in September 2022.

Falcon Boat Club offers a range of events and activities for members. While these regular events are not recorded on the club's events calendar, the website provides separate schedules for rowing club sessions, kayaking club sessions, as well as rowing, kayaking, and canoeing calendars.
