Extraordinary Kids

Extraordinary Kids is a performing arts group and school located in Balwyn North, Melbourne. It is dedicated to nurturing the creativity and self-expression of primary school-aged children through singing, dancing, and acting. The programme is designed to promote self-confidence and encourages a sense of humour and goodwill among the participants.

The founders of Extraordinary Kids, Beccy and Jon, have over 30 years of experience in the music theatre industry. They met while performing in a show with Opera Australia when they were young and went on to perform roles in opera and theatre in Europe, America, and Asia. Now back in Melbourne, they continue to work with Australian mainstream companies and create their own musical comedy feature acts as 'Extraordinary Acts'.

Extraordinary Kids is not a “talent school” and does not believe in stars or hierarchy. They believe that every child has the potential for artistic expression, and their programme is designed to help children explore and grow in a supportive and inclusive environment. The focus is on keeping creativity alive and encouraging children to be kinder to themselves and others.

The school offers private singing lessons for those who want to further develop their vocal abilities. They also provide killer drama games for little kids, which are engaging and fun activities designed to improve acting skills and boost confidence. In addition, Extraordinary Kids offers fashion scripts and fairy tale scripts for kids, which are resources that can be used by children to further explore their creativity and storytelling abilities.

Extraordinary Kids not only offers regular classes, but also provides incursions for schools and traders associations. They believe in starting a lifelong journey of self-expression and aim to inspire children to swing for the fences and pursue their artistic passions.
