Evolve Self Defence Classes for juniors is a fantastic opportunity for 5-10 year old girls and boys in Southampton. The classes aim to make self-defence enjoyable and help children learn important techniques in a fun and engaging way.
At Evolve Self Defence, the focus is not to scare the younger children about potential threats they may encounter in life. Instead, the emphasis is on teaching them vital skills through play. For example, they will learn to shout loudly whenever they are grabbed by surprise, how to run away from danger, and a few techniques to escape from awkward holds. The children may not even realise they are in training because it's all designed to be a lot of fun for them.
For parents, this provides reassurance that their children are subtly being prepared for later life. The classes help build confidence, improve fitness, and equip youngsters with the skills to handle situations in the future. Each class lasts for 45 minutes, and children should wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. It's also recommended to bring a water bottle for the session. Upon signing up for membership, children will receive a sports performance Club t-shirt to be worn each week.
Parents are not required to stay for the class, but they are more than welcome to come and observe during the last 5 minutes to see what their child has been learning. We highly recommend this club to anyone interested in promoting their child's self-defence skills.
Don't just take our word for it though! Here's what one parent has to say about Evolve Self Defence: “The skills that are taught are incredible, and both instructors are super friendly and very professional. My daughter never wanted to do any martial arts, but with this club, she just can’t wait for the next class to start. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!”
