The Evans Head Amateur SportFishing Club Inc., a local fishing club in Richmond Valley Council, is hosting an exciting fishing event that you won't want to miss! Taking place every month, this event is perfect for all fishing enthusiasts in the area.
Every first Tuesday night of the month at 7.30pm, the club holds its monthly meetings at the Evans Head Bowling Club Auditorium. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow fishing enthusiasts and stay updated with the latest news and updates from the club. Club members receive a newsletter before each meeting, ensuring they are well-informed.
But that's not all! The club also organises a thrilling fishing outing each month, starting on the weekend following the monthly meeting. The outing begins at 3.30pm on Friday and ends at 4.30pm on Sunday, giving participants plenty of time to enjoy their fishing adventures. During this time, any allowable species caught can be weighed in and registered at the club's weigh-in station, conveniently located at Evans Head Sports & Marine.
For those who love a little healthy competition, the monthly fishing outing offers a chance to take home a certificate and choose from a selection of fishing tackle as the winner. Additionally, the club promotes a competitive Catch & Release category, where each caught species counts towards the player's score.
Membership opportunities are open to all age groups, including seniors, juniors, sub-juniors, students, and families. Membership fees range from $5.00 for juniors and sub-juniors to $30.00 for family memberships, catering to different budgets.
We mustn't forget the annual presentation nights, which are always a highlight for everyone involved. These nights celebrate the achievements of our dedicated members throughout the year and provide a fantastic opportunity to build camaraderie within the fishing community.
As a club dedicated to its members, we are actively involved in the Seafarer/Evans Head Fishing Classic held in June. This event greatly enhances our presence in the town and allows us to interact with even more fishing enthusiasts.
