

Essex Yacht Club, located in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, is a historic and family-oriented club that has been established since 1890. Situated just a quarter of a mile from Leigh Old Town, this club attracts members of all ages and offers a thriving Cadet section with over 100 active cadets.
The club's headquarters, HQS Wilton, is a unique ship that was converted from the first-ever glassfibre warship, HMS Wilton. With races and events suitable for sailors of all levels, from beginners in Optimists to experienced sailors in high performance dinghies and cruisers, there is something for everyone.
To support their sailing needs while afloat, the club provides two tenders for boat transportation, as well as two fast ribs and a cadet boat, all of which are managed by the members themselves. From April to October, the club holds regular sailing events, often in collaboration with the Leigh Sailing Club and primarily on weekends.
