Errappa Blue Light Camp

Errappa Blue Light Camp is a prestigious youth organisation and outdoor adventure camp located in Iron Knob, South Australia. With a mission to establish positive relationships with police officers, provide recreational opportunities, and increase participants' self-esteem, Errappa aims to promote leadership, team building, self-esteem, a sense of responsibility, and respect for oneself and others in the community.

With camps hosted for 46 weeks of the year, Errappa offers a comprehensive camp programme for young people ranging from 2 to 4 days in duration. The programme includes physical and challenging obstacle courses, as well as other positive self-improvement activities. The camp is supervised by fully qualified police officers who are accredited in outdoor areas of expertise and continually update their qualifications to stay at the cutting edge in their field.

Errappa's supervisors empower camp participants to make their own decisions while encouraging personal growth by setting challenges that take participants out of their comfort zone. The camp's programmes are driven by the philosophy of partnerships between police and participants at a social level, aiming to break down barriers and develop positive relationships while reducing youth crime.

Errappa's facilities are located 50 km northwest of Whyalla on the Eyre Highway between Port Augusta and Kimba. The camp is set in the old miner's singleman's quarters in a bush setting. The main accommodation block, called the Odea Building, offers separate wings for males and females, modern rooms with double bunks, male, female, and disabled amenities. The accommodation also features air-conditioning and heating, ensuring comfort for all participants.

Additionally, a full catering service is provided.

The camp boasts numerous outdoor facilities, including a challenge course, high ropes course, low ropes course, flying fox, lawn area, campfire, large indoor hall, basketball court, and beach volleyball court. These facilities offer a diverse range of activities that cater to different interests and abilities.

Errappa's programmes incorporate an exciting range of indoor training activities along with challenging outdoor activities, which require both individual and teamwork to achieve goals. With activities such as high ropes challenge course, leap of faith, 120m flying fox, beach volleyball, abseiling/rock climbing tower, rescue challenge course, basketball, bushwalking, abseiling, rock climbing, and orienteering, participants are guaranteed a thrilling and engaging experience.
