Our lesson programme covers various disciplines, including dressage, showjumping, schooling, horsemanship, and learning how to read the horses' cues and body language. We prioritise creating a safe environment for our students by providing educated school masters who know their job is to look after you. Building confidence is our main goal, whether you're just starting out, getting back into horses, or seeking a tune-up with your own horses.
At Equestrian Spirit, we offer more than just riding lessons. We also have a show team that competes six times a year, along with other ridden experiences like obstacle courses and trail rides. This programme is by application only and requires a higher level of commitment. We expect participants to be able to walk, trot, and canter in an arena and open paddock.
Additionally, we prioritise empathy towards our horses' well-being and health over competition ribbons.
Our head coach and owner, Katie, has been involved with horses for over 27 years. With 14 years of teaching and training experience, Katie is passionate about working with horses in a way that they can enjoy. She values the standard of riding her students achieve and focuses on creating a family-like atmosphere where everyone can come together and enjoy their time with other horse lovers. Katie's core philosophy is to handle and ride horses in a way that creates happy horses who enjoy being ridden.
