Strength & Flexibility classes are delivered online via Zoom, allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own homes. These classes are suitable for individuals of all levels and abilities, and are particularly beneficial for those who are unable to attend in-person sessions.
For those who prefer a more traditional approach, Epsom Strength and Balance also offers in-person group classes. These classes take place in Ashtead and Epsom, and are held at the Epsom Methodist Church. The group classes focus on improving posture, lower body strength, and balance through a series of gentle exercises. The sessions include a warm-up, joint mobilisation exercises, leg strength exercises, balance activities, and stretches.
By participating in these classes, individuals can enhance their overall mobility and make daily activities easier.
In addition to group classes, Epsom Strength and Balance provides individual training sessions. These sessions are tailored to meet each individual's specific strength and balance needs, allowing for targeted assistance and customised workout plans. Whether it's at the trainer's home or the client's preferred location, these individual sessions provide the opportunity to focus on personal goals and achieve optimal results.
For those who are unable to attend classes in person or prefer the convenience of exercising at home, Epsom Strength and Balance offers ESB at Home classes. These classes are delivered through Zoom and can be accessed via a PC, tablet, or mobile phone. ESB at Home classes consist of gentle exercises designed to improve daily activities and quality of life. The programme follows the evidence-based Otago exercise programme, which can be adapted to suit both beginners and advanced clients.
Participants are taught how to safely recover their balance and are encouraged to challenge themselves at an appropriate level. The classes focus on improving balance and confidence, ultimately enhancing mobility and overall well-being.
To participate in ESB at Home classes, participants will need two chairs, optional 1 kg ankle weights, a bottle of water, and a space of approximately 2mx2m or 6 1/2ft x 6 1/2ft.
Epsom Strength and Balance is recommended by the local NHS Falls Prevention and Physiotherapy teams, as well as working alongside Active Surrey. This collaboration ensures that the programmes offered are of the highest quality and provide maximum benefits to participants.
Whether through group classes, individual training sessions, or online options, Epsom Strength and Balance is committed to helping individuals of all ages and abilities improve their strength, balance, and overall well-being. By participating in these programmes, individuals can stay strong, keep upright longer, and enjoy a higher quality of life.
