Epping RSL Bowls Club

The Epping RSL Bowls Club, located in Melbourne, is a vibrant and inclusive sports club that offers a range of lawn bowls activities for members and visitors. Established in 1993 by a small group of Epping RSL members, the club has since grown and evolved to become a thriving community hub.

One of the club's major accomplishments was the installation of two grass greens (Tiff Dwarf) in 2000, which replaced the previous synthetic greens. These greens provide a top-quality playing surface for bowlers of all skill levels. The club takes pride in its achievements in the Metropolitan Pennant Finals season, with success in recent years including division 6 and division 5 teams winning the Metropolitan Pennant Flag in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, respectively.

In addition to competitive play, the club also values social bowls and warmly welcomes visitors, new or experienced bowlers, and those simply looking to learn more about the game. Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon during the Pennant season, members are available to introduce newcomers to the sport. The club also offers the assistance of a dedicated club coach for those interested in learning or improving their skills.

Membership at Epping RSL Bowls Club offers a range of benefits, including affiliation with Bowls Victoria, and membership fees for the 2022/2023 season are set at $120 for adults and free for juniors under 18 years old. New members joining for the first time have their membership fee waived (conditions apply). It is important to note that all members of the Bowls Club must also be members of the RSL Sub-Branch, either existing or through joining the Epping RSL Sub Branch.

Aside from regular play and membership, the club hosts tournaments that attract participants from clubs across Melbourne and even some country clubs. These tournaments have been highly successful and will continue to be a feature of the club's offerings.

The Epping RSL Bowls Club is part of the wider Epping RSL venue, which was established on Harvest Home Road in September 1995. The venue has expanded over the years to include a gaming room, a TAB, a members area, a large bistro, and a community room. The Battalion Bar & Bistro, open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, provides a welcoming space for members and guests to enjoy a delicious meal.
