Street dance is another popular style at EMMENSE, encompassing breaking, popping, and locking. Originating outside the dance studio, street dance has become a global craze and is regularly featured on popular TV shows like Britain's Got Talent.
Commercial dance is another exciting style offered at EMMENSE. This style refers to dancing performed in music videos, concerts, movies, and commercials. With styles ranging from jazz to hip hop, commercial dance is fast becoming a popular form of expression.
Lyrical slow dance is characterised by fluidity, grace, and seamless transitions between moves. This style challenges dancers to use motion to interpret the music and express emotion, while strengthening and stretching the body.
At EMMENSE Dance Academy, we also offer classes in musical theatre, combining dance, song, and acting. Our dancers have the opportunity to perform in yearly theatre productions, allowing them to fully explore this style.
For dancers looking to enhance their technique, we offer an advanced/technique class. This class focuses on the fundamentals of dance, including proper execution of leaps, jumps, kicks, and turns. Perfecting technique is essential for dancers looking to enter the industry professionally.
For those looking to compete, EMMENSE offers a competition class. We attend ADFP competitions across the country, giving dancers the chance to showcase their skills and be awarded with trophies and medals. Each dancer in the competition class receives personalised coaching for freestyle solo routines, freestyle pairs with a partner, and solo slow and street routines, tailored to their individual style and ability.
Private tuition is also available at EMMENSE Dance Academy. These one-on-one lessons with our teachers can be used to improve examination or competitive routines. It's also a great way for new students to build self-confidence and gain knowledge before joining our regular classes. Children looking to audition for a dance placement at Mill Hill County High School are encouraged to book private tuition, as we have a high success rate for students being accepted into MHCHS.
