Emily Butler School of Dance

The Emily Butler School of Dance is a prestigious dance school located in Dartford, known for its high-quality training in Dance and Musical Theatre. Established in 2015, the school provides a friendly, caring, and fun environment for children aged 2. 5 years onwards.

All teachers at the Emily Butler School of Dance are qualified with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) and hold fully enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and Chaperone Licences, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Crayford Community Centre, Town Hall Square, Crayford, DA1 4FN. The school offers a wide range of classes in various dance styles, including Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap, and Musical Theatre. Students have the opportunity to participate in ISTD dance examinations, which not only enhance their skills but also earn them UCAS points towards university applications.

The Emily Butler School of Dance takes pride in showcasing the talents of its students. Every year, they host various shows and displays, including an Annual Summer Show where students perform on a professional stage. They also hold a small Christmas Display and participate in various other events throughout the year. These performances provide valuable stage experience and encourage students' confidence and self-expression.

The school is led by Emily Butler, ISTD DDE Principal, Dance Teacher & Musical Theatre Coordinator. Emily has a passion for dance that began at the age of 2. She has a wealth of experience, having performed in numerous shows and pantomimes as a child. Emily has trained extensively, earning qualifications from the Miskin Theatre, North West Kent College, and the Deborah Day Theatre School.

In September 2015, she fulfilled her lifelong dream and opened the Emily Butler School of Dance.

Jasmine Corbin, an ISTD Dance Teacher & Musical Theatre Assistant, joined the teaching faculty in 2019. She works closely with Miss Emily in Dance and Musical Theatre classes. Jasmine began her dance journey at the age of 4 and has also completed qualifications with the ISTD.

Since its inception, the Emily Butler School of Dance has seen tremendous growth and success. Students have been involved in TV adverts, and all ISTD exam results have received high merits and distinctions. In addition to running the school, Emily also teaches at other prestigious establishments and has choreographed performances at the Videopolis in Disneyland Paris.
