In light of the ongoing pandemic, the academy has implemented various measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its students, staff, and visitors. These include touchless temperature checks upon entry, social distancing guidelines, limiting dance class occupancy, and regular cleaning after each class. Additionally, handwashing stations are readily available throughout the facility.
Founded in 1993, Elite Academy of Dance and Gymnastics is a renowned dance school nestled in the heart of Birmingham. The academy offers comprehensive training in various dance styles and provides students with the opportunity to develop gymnastic skills as well. From beginners to aspiring professional dancers or teachers, Elite Academy offers an excellent foundation for all.
The academy values the importance of performance experience and offers students the chance to showcase their talents in a wide variety of dance styles. Students have the opportunity to participate in shows, competitions, carnivals, charity events, and even television appearances. Elite Academy has earned numerous awards and accolades, including being award winners at the International Festival "Servernaya Zori” held in Russia.
Elite Academy of Dance and Gymnastics is proud to be affiliated with the world-renowned dance examinations board, ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). This affiliation allows students to gain a deeper understanding of dance and progress through various levels. Dance examinations also contribute towards university points, giving students an advantage in furthering their education.
The academy is especially proud of its accomplished and dedicated teachers. Yvonne Teplitski, with her extensive experience in dance and performing arts, is the co-founder of Elite Academy. Having trained at the esteemed Urdang Academy of Ballet and Performing Arts, she has danced professionally alongside top names in the industry. Yvonne is also a qualified teacher and has choreographed for professional shows such as the Moscow State Circus.
Oleg Teplitski, also a co-founder, comes from a lineage of circus artists and has garnered immense recognition for his skills. Graduating with top honours from Moscow State Circus School, Oleg has performed worldwide in circus, theatre, and on television. In addition to his performances, Oleg provides guidance and assistance to fellow professionals and has even acted as an adjudicator on the television show “Body Idol.
The achievements of Elite Academy's students are a testament to the quality of education provided by the school. Many former students have gone on to become professional dancers and teachers, while others have been accepted into prestigious dance colleges.
