One of Elevate Martial Arts' flagship classes is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), led by Tommy, a 2nd-degree black belt under Roger Gracie, and the head BJJ coach at Elevate. BJJ is one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, combining technique, strategy, and self-defence skills. Often referred to as “human chess,” BJJ provides an incredible workout while imparting valuable self-defence skills. Training in BJJ involves a warm-up session focusing on strength, conditioning, and flexibility, followed by learning new techniques and finally, sparring.
The Strength and Fitness class at Elevate is designed to optimise the body's metabolism while targeting core strength, flexibility, and overall physical fitness. Led by highly experienced instructors, this class incorporates a HIIT & Burn session as well as a Fight Fit class, ensuring participants get a well-rounded and effective workout.
Elevate Martial Arts also offers Kids and Teens classes that aim to instil discipline, self-confidence, and progressive achievement in young students. These classes utilise techniques that have been taught for thousands of years, emphasising the importance of physical activity and personal growth. The school holds gradings every three months, providing a clear pathway for children to improve and challenge themselves.
The team at Elevate consists of highly skilled coaches who have years of experience in competition and student development. In addition to Tommy, Trent, and Nathan are also prominent coaches at the gym. Trent, a former Lifeguard and Rugby League player, focuses on BJJ and HIIT, emphasising mental resilience and forward progression. Nathan, a professional MMA fighter with a BJJ brown belt, brings his wealth of experience and energy to his classes.
To enhance the convenience for students, Elevate Martial Arts offers the Elevate Mobile App, allowing easy class bookings and providing up-to-date information on schedules and events. The gym is conveniently located above Richmond Station on Kew Rd, with ample parking available. Operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 21:00, and Saturday to Sunday, 09:00 to 16:00.
