Established in September 2019, Elements Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a renowned martial arts school located in Burgess Hill, and recently moved to its own dedicated full-time space in Haywards Heath, New Zealand. Led by head coaches Yousuf Nabi (3rd Degree Black Belt) and Kim Greaves (1st Degree Black Belt), the school prides itself on creating a positive training environment where all students feel welcome and benefit from personalised instruction that caters to their individual goals and needs.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling art that originated from judo and wrestling. It revolves around the effective utilisation of leverage to throw, pin, and submit opponents. By mastering this “gentle” art of leverage, practitioners at Elements Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are not only able to maximise their own strength and personal safety, but also neutralise any physical advantages their opponents may possess.
The school offers a range of classes throughout the week to accommodate various skill levels and preferences. The Monday classes include Fundamentals from 6pm to 7pm, followed by BJJ Gi from 7pm to 9pm. On Tuesday, there is a Submission Wrestling class from 7pm to 9pm. Wednesday features Fundamentals (6pm-7pm) and BJJ Gi (7pm-9pm) classes.
Thursday's schedule includes a Fundamentals class from 12pm to 1pm, Open mat from 1pm to 2pm, and Fundamentals in the evening from 5pm to 6pm, followed by Submission Wrestling from 6pm to 8pm. BJJ Gi classes take place on Friday from 7pm to 9pm, and on Sunday, there is a Fundamentals class from 11am to 12pm, followed by Open mat from 12pm to 1pm.
While currently focused on adult classes, Elements Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has plans to introduce kids classes in the future. Those interested in enrolling their children in the upcoming programmes are encouraged to email the school to register interest.
