Jackie invites everyone in the sports community to visit Elderslie Golf Club, nestled in the village of Elderslie, Renfrewshire, on the West Coast of Scotland. This 18-hole parkland course, designed by James Braid and opened in April 1909, promises an enjoyable and challenging experience for all golfers.
As you approach the course, the picturesque scenery sets the stage for the challenges ahead. The well-manicured fairways, rough, and trees, along with the lush backdrop of the Newton Woods, create a wonderful setting. From the car park, you can see the first and last holes, adding a sense of excitement and anticipation.
Before starting your round, don't forget to warm up at the conveniently located practice ground. The course remains in excellent condition throughout the summer months, with well-defined fairways and greens aiding your shot judgement. However, straying off the fairway or missing the green will test your skills.
Elderslie is 6175 yards (approximately 5646 metres) long with a par of 70, offering a fair challenge to golfers at all levels. As you make your way through the course, take in the stunning views from the higher parts. On clear days, from the seventh and ninth greens, you can catch sight of the Kilpatrick Hills and Ben Lomond. The tenth tee offers a backdrop of Gleniffer Braes, and the twelfth and thirteenth tees provide panoramic views over Glasgow and towards the Campsies.
Each of the 18 holes has its own layout and challenges, from Burnbrae to Wallace Craig. Flyover videos for each hole help players familiarise themselves with the course and plan their strategy.
Jackie and the team at Elderslie Golf Club extend a warm welcome to all, whether you're a seasoned golfer or a beginner aiming to improve. The club offers more than just a great course, with a clubhouse, pro shop, catering services, and an indoor golf lounge equipped with Mia Sports Solutions and Flightscope Technology for year-round practice.
